Digital signage is a form of electronic display that shows information, advertising and other messages you want to express or tell to the people. You cam mostly find digital signage in public and private environment such a retail stores in the shopping malls, in the airport, train station, etc.
The advantage between the digital signage from the static signage like the big billboards on the street is you can easily change your content for your signage, you can show animation on your digital signage unlike the static.
I will give you an example for a very simple digital signage,
- You must have a minimum of 32" LCD. (The bigger the display the more you attract people). You must place your LCD on a strategic place where people can see it.
- You will need a player. ( such as PC, Laptop,DVD player, etc.) This player will play what content do you want. Then you must check the settings of your player, it must be playing continuously or it depends on you on how it will be going to play and display image to your monitor.
- Note:If your are using a DVD player you can connect it from the output of the DVD which is CVBS to the input of your LCD. If your DVD and LCD have a HDMI connection, you can used this for better image. For the laptop and desktop PC, you can used VGA connection. Most LCD has the VGA connection on the backside.
There is also a more complicated digital signage, specially when you are installing and configuring it. Some digital signage is an IP base. You just need a laptop or a PC connected to the network and you can control and change the content of your signage.
